The goal of this funding is to increase the participation of WPI undergraduate women students in conferences. By subjecting their projects (MQPs, Independent Projects, Directed Research, etc.) to external peer reviews (conference paper submissions or during poster presentation judging), they can receive an outside and global perspective through feedback and constructive criticisms that may not be possible during internal reviews of their projects.
WPI women students can apply for conference registration costs and/or travel costs (partially). This can lead to more WPI women student representatives from the undergraduate level at conferences. This in turn can lead to increased participation of women students from other universities too in the future.
